Veritas Bench Dogs

Solid brass faces to avoid damage to sharp edge tools. However i m a bit disappointed i didn t go with the veritas dogs as they are only a few dollars more.

The dogs are 110mm 4 3 8 long the pups 60mm 2 3 8. The bench pups at 2 3 8 are fine for benches with tops up to 2 thick. The combined crosshatching and 2 inward slope of the face hold wood securely.

Veritas simple but functional design makes these dogs very easy to build in or retrofit into any bench. They have hard spring grip plastic bodies each with six face ribs. The bench dogs at 4 3 8 are standard length.

The bench pups at 2 3 8 are fine for benches with tops up to 2 thick and ideal for bench sides. Since the dog head has two screw holes any shape of tip can be cut with a scroll saw and quickly attached for specialized work giving good control without marring work using a wonder dog in combination with a standard round bench dog you can make a clamp of any length by drilling 3 4 holes in a 2 x 4 2 x 6 etc. 1 1 4 long for bench dogs or 3 4 long for bench pups.

The side spring lets the dog slide smoothly but holds it well at any desired projection. Dubbed a blade due to its flat design it projects just 1 4 6 3 mm above a work surface to permit maximum access to a workpiece. Bench pups are 2 3 8 long for bench tops up to 2 thick both work well with veritas wonder dog and wonder pup clamps slip resistant muzzles slide over bench dogs or bench pups to give non marring surface.
